OLD NEWS with Dan & Carrie
Peg Cokins: From Stage IV Bladder Cancer to NED (No Evidence of Disease)
In 2004, Peg Cokins was diagnosed with bladder cancer. It was slow growing and treated as more of a nuisance than a life-threatening situation. Things took a turn when the cancer spread to a kidney, which was removed. In 2016, Peg received devastating news…the bladder cancer cells had spread to her lymph nodes, which meant Stage IV cancer. The next year, it spread to the liver. Without treatment, Peg was given only a few months to live. Then a miracle happened! The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center was doing a clinical trial on a drug to treat exactly what Peg had. She shares her experience and why more research is needed for Bladder Cancer on OLD NEWS with Dan & Carrie.
