Carrie Cokins Knight

Carrie Cokins Knight was a morning news co-anchor with Dan Presser at WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin in the late 1990s.  The pair launched the ABC affiliate's very first morning news program in 1997.  Prior to co-anchoring 27 First News...Carrie worked as an intern, writer, weekend producer, morning cut-in anchor, and reporter.  Her favorite TV news memories are working with Dan the awesome morning show crew!

Carrie is currently the host of WPXI's Home Expert Show in Pittsburgh.  She does on-camera and voice-overs in the region and teaches yoga.

Carrie's empty nester dreams included launching this podcast and starting a "band"!  When she's not playing tennis, platform tennis, or walking her three dogs with her husband of 26+ years, you can find Carrie singing and playing bari uke with Amy (guitar  & vocals) ...the other half of her musical duo, "Happy Hour"!

Dan Presser

Dan is a lifelong news junkie. His obsession started in grade school playing the News Game, and mostly losing to his buddy, Scott.  He supplemented his less-than-championship-level knowledge by regularly watching the nightly network news anchored by the likes of Cronkite, Rather, Jennings and Brokaw. Still, he never really thought about it as a career until one day after graduating college, he and his future wife, Teresa, were at a local beach. Out of the blue, Dan told her he was going to go back to college to become a broadcast journalist.

Despite one instructor who told him he should stick to newspaper reporting,  Dan finally landed back home in Madison, Wisconsin at WKOW-TV (ABC), where he enjoyed the best years of his career co-anchoring 27 First News with Carrie Cokins Knight.

Today, among other projects, he produces and anchors the award-winning hyper-local newscast Sun Prairie News. Dan and his wife enjoy camping and hiking.
